My research outcomes include sensible data; therefore privacy protections is a major concern. All names of informants and interlocutors are changed. Sensible photographs such as afrod-cars are published in accordance to the owners. For most of them it is an utmost concern that we in the West learn about their survival strategies. We are not dealing with criminal border-crossers state authorities want us to believe; instead smuggling in the Sahara is a matter of sophisticated strategies in order to overcome the Tuareg´s main problem: iban eshughl – missing labor.

In case of using my or Akidima Effads photographs, ask before and handle it carefully please. It is not just scientific data, it is most of all a question of trust and confidence.

Thank you, merci, tanemert, shukran.
